
Mei Mei Song
As Plaza Premium Group Chief Transformation Officer, Mei Mei Song has been instrumental in driving the strategic direction and transforming experiences for the company, founded by her father Song Hoi-see in 1998.
Fast forward to 26 years later, Plaza Premium Group now has a stronghold in over 600 international and domestic airports across 150 countries from Asia, Europe, Australia, South America, North America, India, Africa and the Middle East. A company conceived and born in Hong Kong, it is now the world leader in integrated airport hospitality services and facilities serving more than 20 million global passengers annually.
In her role, Mei Mei focuses on creating value-added experiences for travellers, growing the brand portfolio, the transformation of the marketing and communications team, leading PPG’s journey to ESG, and spearheading its long-term vision with a focus on people, technology and sustainability. She lives and breathes the Group mission of ‘making travel better, together’ and oversees four teams: sustainability, brand, communications and marketing.
As a member of the company’s steering committee and as the next generation of PPG, Mei Mei is committed to growing the company’s award-winning airport hospitality portfolio globally by listening to the needs of travellers and developing a culture of communications internally and externally.
During her decade-long tenure with PPG, Mei Mei led the successful brand repositioning of Plaza Premium Lounge ahead of its global expansion, expanded the range of in-lounge services to cater to different travellers’ needs (voted the world’s best independent lounge by Skytrax eight years running), and launched of the company’s first Arrivals lounge, as well as Aerotel, the world’s first in-terminal airport hotel with flexible hours to accommodate different travel patterns. More recently, Mei Mei introduced innovative hospitality concepts, including Intervals, the world’s first airport cocktail bar and the ‘proudly local’ initiative, positioning lounges as a platform to showcase local cultures through art, food and community.
