Jack MacGowan
Jack MacGowan spent seven years as CEO of ARI, a leading travel retailer. Prior to that, MacGowan was Chief Commercial Officer of the daa, which owns and manages several airports in Ireland, Europe and in the Middle East.
He started his business career in Shell’s international marketing department, went on to serve in McKinsey‘s Dublin and London offices and then held several senior positions with Diageo working in the UK, USA, Greece and Russia.
More recently, MacGowan has been an Operating Partner with Palladin Consumer and Retail Partners, a Boston-based Private Equity group, who have owned several companies in the travel retail sector. He currently sits on the Board of Tailwind and was a Director of In Motion for several years until it was sold to WHSmith in 2018.
MacGowan holds engineering degrees from Trinity College Dublin and
Cambridge University, as well as an MBA from the Wharton School of Business.
He was a Council Board Member of Oxfam Ireland; has chaired NFTE, an educational charity backed by Atlantic Philanthropies (Chuck Feeney); and is currently a Board Member of GDA (Technological University of Dublin campus). He also chairs the local school parents’ association and coaches junior rugby and football teams. MacGowan lives in Dublin and is married with two children.
