Bastiaan van Asten
Bastiaan van Asten is the Senior Vice President Commercial Foodservice for Avolta EMEA, bringing 30 years of food & beverage experience within the airport industry.
Having first pursued jobs in hotels and various F&B brands, van Asten started his career with HMSHost (now Avolta) in operations at Schiphol Airport. After overseeing operations within the terminal complex, he turned his attention to growing the company beyond the boundaries of The Netherlands, establishing the first international locations in Sweden, Ireland, Denmark and the UK.
Over the past decades, van Asten has been instrumental in expanding and professionalising the company’s presence across 19 countries spanning from Finland to New Zealand. Today within Avolta’s Northern, Eastern and Central Europe region, he spearheads Business Development, Concept Creation, Franchise and Supply Partners, Social Responsibility as well as Quality Assurance and Food Development. van Asten is conscious of sustainable lifestyle choices and is committed to the transformation of the foodservice industry.
He has a degree in Marketing and Economics, as well as an education from the Dutch Hotel School. Born in The Netherlands, van Asten has lived in several countries including Belgium, Germany and Vietnam, and travelled the world extensively, inspiring the creation of his motto: “Think Global Cook Local.”
