
Mark Hallstein
As a Key Account Manager Airport Retailing at Fraport, Mark Hallstein has been pivotal in shaping the retail and property landscape at Frankfurt Airport since joining in December 2000, building on his earlier tenure at Nestlé Deutschland (1998-2000).
Frankfurt-based Fraport is a global airport operations leader, and Mark’s efforts have enhanced its retail and gastronomy offerings for millions of passengers each year. He currently manages over 150 rental properties and 20 partner companies to generate an annual turnover exceeding €200 million.
At Fraport, Mark oversees airport retail, including gastronomy, books, press, convenience and vending, leading teams on projects such as the development of Terminal 3. He provides international consulting, including engagements in Saudi Arabia, and manages retail strategies aligned with Fraport’s mission to elevate passenger experiences.
A seasoned leader, Mark expands Fraport’s retail presence through lease negotiations, sector mix strategies, and high-yield food & beverage concepts. He fosters team resilience, drawing on mindfulness training, and prioritises customer service.
Mark’s Fraport tenure includes leading the e-business strategy for its IPO (2000-2004) with Boston Consulting Group and relaunching its B2C website. As Head of Food & Beverage (2004-2020), he grew the portfolio to over 100 properties and €150 million in turnover. Since 2021, he has introduced innovative sales channels and spoken at congresses with up to 2,000 attendees. His Nestlé experience laid the groundwork for his success, integrating online-offline networking and sustainable quality management, reinforcing Frankfurt Airport’s status as a top travel hub.
