
Javier Marin
Javier Marin is Executive Vice Chairman at Aena, Managing Director at Aena Internacional, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Aeroportos do Nordeste do Brasil and Chairman of Bloco de Onze Aeroportos do Brasil.
As Executive Vice Chairman, he manages the Airports business unit; the Commercial and Real Estate business unit; the Innovation, Sustainability and Client Experience Directorate; the IT and Digitalisation Directorate; and Aena’s international subsidiaries.
He is also Executive Committee Member of ACI EUROPE (Airport Council International), Member of the Board of ACI World and Member of the Madrid Territorial Council of IESE, Alumni Association.
Javier has held a number of management positions since joining Aena in 1991, including Executive Board Member since 2020; Managing Director – Airports; Managing Director – Aena; Managing Director – Aena Aeropuertos; and Director of Spanish Airports. He was also previously Managing Director – Air Navigation Services and Director of Corporate Development.
He has been a member of the Boards of Directors of different aeronautical infrastructure companies, including Centros Logísticos Aeroportuarios, Ingeniería y Economía del Transporte and London Luton Airport Operations Limited; Mexican companies Aeropuertos Mexicanos del Pacífico and Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico; and Colombian companies Aeropuertos del Caribe, Sociedad Aeroportuaria de la Costa and Aerocali. He has also been President of ACI EUROPE.
Prior to joining Aena Javier worked for the Universidad Politécnica, the Spanish Civil Aviation Authorities, Paris-based Eurocontrol Experimental Centre and Indra.
He holds an MSc in Aeronautical Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica of Madrid, and completed the programme of Economic and Financial Management at the Madrid Chamber of Commerce and the Senior Management Programme at IESE.
