INTERNATIONAL. Registration is now open for the Airport Food & Beverage (FAB) Conference, to be held as a virtual event on 12-13 September. Registration is free and can be made via this link through organiser The Moodie Davitt Report.
FAB 2022 will be anchored by an extensive Knowledge Hub programme, offering a strong line-up of thought leaders from across the travel dining channel.
A powerful speaker line-up is set to feature representatives from Heathrow Airport, Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield Airports, Autogrill/HMSHost, SSP, Areas and Lagardère Travel Retail, among other airports and concessionaires. A highlight of the 2021 FAB virtual event, FAB Women, will again be a key session this year, with a focus on the achievements of female leaders in the sector.
The Moodie Davitt Report will also co-organise a session in partnership with influential North American concessionaire representative body the Airport Restaurant & Retail Association. Full speaker details will follow shortly.
The event is themed around four core pillars: Partnership, Progress, People and Planet, with sponsors to date including leading travel F&B players Autogrill/HMSHost, SSP and Areas.
As at the Virtual Travel Retail Expo 2021, it will be rounded off by the people-focused FAB Superstars Awards. There is now under one month until the entry deadline, with the opportunity for companies to make nominations at this link.
The awards, introduced in 2021, will again shine the spotlight on the thousands of front-of-house and behind the scenes heroes and heroines who have helped keep the food & beverage community within our industry going throughout the challenges of the last year.
In addition, this year’s awards include an important new category, the FAB ESG Awards, which have been introduced to celebrate, recognise and reward those people and initiatives that have made a positive impact in the areas of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG).
Hosted by The Moodie Davitt Report, an advisory committee of travel food & beverage specialists are involved in judging the awards. These include industry consultants Nick Inkster, who spent 25 years in senior roles with SSP and Kevin Zajax, Director at Ground Control Global and formerly Chief Operating Officer for Dubai-based Emirates Leisure Retail.
Joining the judges’ panel this year is Ann Elliott, Owner of Ann Elliott Hospitality Consultancy. She has over 30 years’ experience in the hospitality sector and has a deep understanding of and passion for the food business. She works with clients to solve strategic challenges by focusing on customer needs and by bringing insight, people and creative solutions together.
Ann Elliott said: “I’m so delighted to have been asked to be a judge for this year’s FAB Superstars Awards. I am really looking forward to hearing success stories from so many inspirational businesses, particularly considering all the challenges that F&B sector has gone through over the last two challenging years. I am very excited to be part of the team.”
