INTERNATIONAL. The leading travel experience player created by the combination of Dufry and Autogrill has been named as a Platinum Partner of the FAB + Hospitality Conference & Awards, which take place in Bangkok, Thailand, on 12-13 September.

The event, founded by The Moodie Davitt Report in 2011, returns in physical form this year after a four-year absence due to the pandemic.

It is dedicated to the burgeoning world of airport food & beverage as well as (for the first time) other airport hospitality services, including lounges and hotels. Details of a stellar speaker line-up have already been announced, with more to follow.

Dufry Chief Executive Officer Xavier Rossinyol said: “2023 is a pivotal year for our industry and our company, signalling a bright future. It marks the return of the FAB Conference and Awards’ in-person gathering, and it marks the year that our two companies, Dufry and Autogrill, combine to create the leading global Travel Experience player.

“As Platinum Sponsors of the event we look forward to contributing on a content and connection level as we reunite with our peers from around the world in this leading global forum for the airport food & beverage and hospitality industries.”

Rossinyol added: “The FAB+ Conference provides a colourful and dynamic setting in which we can join our business partners in learning and discussion, and share our vision of revolutionising the traveller’s experience. Whether through hybrid, game-changing or digitally-driven experiences, our Destination 2027 strategy guides us as we work together to surprise our customers by combining travel retail with F&B, drawing on our skills, expertise and partnerships to equally benefit airports, brands and our travellers. The travel revolution is here, and we look forward to sharing more at the FAB + Hospitality Conference and Awards in Bangkok later this year.“As reported, Dufry’s business combination with Autogrill enables the joint company to address 2.3 billion passengers in more than 75 countries in 5,500 outlets across 1,200 airports, motorways, cruise lines, seaports, railway stations and other locations across all six continents.

The Moodie Davitt Report Founder & Chairman Martin Moodie said, “Autogrill has been a consistent supporter of FAB since we conceived and first held this event in 2011, and we are honoured to have the support of the new combined Dufry-Autogrill group at a pivotal moment for the company and the wider travel dining and shopping business.

“The convergence of F&B and retail is a critical theme for our channel, and delegates in Bangkok can look forward to hearing how the new combined entity plans to play a major role in reshaping our sector for partners and consumers.”

Early Bird registration for FAB 2023 is available through 1 July and preferential room rates at the event venue Millennium Hilton Bangkok can be accessed via https://airportfab.events/
