In his role as CEO of Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), Sean Donohue is responsible for the management, operation, strategy and development of the airport – the fourth-busiest in the world.
He manages an organisation with more than 2,000 employees and an annual operating budget of just over US$1 billion, as well as a $3 billion capital improvement programme. DFW handles over 70 million customers each year and produces more than US$37 billion in annual economic impact for the Dallas Fort Worth region. One of the world’s preeminent global mega-hubs, DFW consistently ranks among the best large airports for customer service.
Sean joined the airport in October 2013 following a 28-year career in the airline industry. He served for three years as Chief Operating Officer of Virgin Australia Airlines, where he led day-to-day operations for Australia’s second-largest carrier. Before that he spent 25 years with United Airlines in a variety of executive roles including operations, sales and commercial startups.
A graduate of Boston College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and Economics, Sean serves on the Executive Committee of the World Travel & Tourism Council, and also serves on several boards for community organisations in the Dallas Fort Worth region.
