Mirela Rusu is a seasoned leader with deep expertise in commercial retail, leasing, real estate and concessions planning and management, playing a critical role in defining and implementing focused strategic objectives pertaining to customer experience and innovation. Under Mirela’s leadership, Vancouver Airport is delivering an ambitious commercial improvement programme as well as other initiatives that build on the airport’s world class sustainable hub strategy. Mirela is recognised for her passion and her result- and client-centric mindset as well as for her creative drive.
Before joining Vancouver Airport Authority Mirela was with Montréal International Airport, where she played a key role in delivering its expanded and improved commercial offer while refocusing the organisation on the launch and growth of key categories to provide benefits to passengers and to the overall airport community.
A proud native of Bucharest, Mirela speaks English, French and Romanian. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from HEC–University of Montréal as well as an Executive Development Diploma from McGill University.
