Elena Stenholm is Vice President of Finnish airport operator Finavia, and in charge of commercial services at Helsinki Airport.
She graduated from the University of Helsinki with a Master’s degree in International Politics and Economics, and also holds degrees in Marketing and International Trade. Elena has extensive experience in strategic and operational leadership and business development in airport, retail and real estate businesses.
Elena’s expertise covers the whole B-to-C value chain from supplier to consumer in an omnichannel environment which includes purchasing, logistics, category management, marketing, sales, concept development and general business development. She has also worked on the development of different store formats and commercial offerings at shopping centres, as well as digital solutions for the development of new business opportunities and operating models.
Elena’s recent activities as Vice President include developing the consumer-driven businesses of nearly 100 stores at Helsinki Airport including travel retail, F&B, hotels, services, parking, advertising and B-to-C campaigns. Helsinki is the leading Northern European hub for long-haul flights, and a popular transit point for air traffic between Europe and Asia. Helsinki Airport is currently investing €900 million in expanding passenger facilities and improving services and infrastructure.
